Here is a list of common problems reported by Toyota Vitz users:

  • Vibration when idle- this problem is mainly reported on the 1000cc engine of the Toyota Vitz(there are other two engine options, the 1500cc and 1300cc). Once you switch on the car but it is not moving, it will shake exceedingly. This problem can be fixed by visiting your mechanic, the common fix for the issue is a change of the engine mounts.
  • Oil reduction- this is another problem that has been reported by some users of the Toyota Vitz. This issue means the car is using or burning oil too quickly. The problem can be avoided by using the recommended oil and also doing a timely oil change.
  • Engine noise when accelerating- when you hit the pedal so as to accelerate the engine noise will be eminent, this however is not a major problem. Also, there is no noise unless you are accelerating.
  • Slow acceleration- if you are looking for a car that will accelerate as fast as possible, Toyota Vitz might not be the best pick. When accelerating the car might feel underpowered and hence slow acceleration, especially for the 1000cc engine.
