Nissan Juke review in Kenya

We had a chance to drive the vehicle, this is what we have to say about the vehicle considering our experience and the features it has to offer.

Comfort

Juke has good legroom and headroom on both rows, however, if 3 people sight at the back, they will not be that comfortable since the shoulder space is tight. The seats of the Juke are comfortable but the interior material is not that premium. We would hence give the Juke an average score when it comes to comfort.

Driving experience

Juke has good ground clearance, this means that you will not have trouble when cruising huge speed bumps. The car also handles well and there is not much of a body roll. However, Nissan Juke comes with a CVT transmission system that gives a smooth drive but not much of a driving thrill.

Safety rating

After ANCAP did crash tests and considered the safety features of the Juke, they gave a safety rating of 5 stars. Some of the safety features that come as standard on the Nissan Juke include Dual frontal, side chest, side head airbags (curtains), Antilock brakes (ABS), electronic brake distribution (EBD) and electronic stability control (ESC).

Reliability

Those who hate the Juke will tell you they do not like it either because of its looks or because it is unreliable. While the engine of the Juke is reliable, the CVT transmission system from Nissan is known to be problematic. The main issue is usually overheating and this can be solved by installing a more efficient cooling system for the CVT. Apart from the CVT issue, there are no other major problems you will face as far as you service your car as required.

Value for money

When it comes to value for money, we will give the Juke an average score, this is because it scores average on comfort, driving experience and reliability. We would give the vehicle a lower score than average but its price is among the lowest among its competitors. The resale value of the Nissan Juke is also not that good.

To conclude, the Price of the Nissan Juke in Kenya makes it a good pick for someone looking for a compact crossover SUV in Kenya but has a low budget. The comfort of the Juke is good, especially for a young family. While the CVT system has cooling issues, they can be solved by installing better cooling systems, the maintenance cost is affordable and the fuel usage is not that bad. In overall, Nissan Juke is a good car.
