Honda Accord review in Kenya

From our interaction with the car and ratings from the owners of this car, here is what we have to say about the Accord.

Overall rating(4.3)
Comfort

Value for money

The comfort in this car is at the top, once you enter the car, you get this luxurious feel. It is spacious not to mention the tech features that it comes with. On some trims, you will get a sunroof adding more of that executive feel. It is definitely a good car for someone looking for a comfortable interior. The only downside is the too many plastics in the cabin.

When it comes to reliability, this car upholds the reliability fame of Honda engines. With proper servicing and maintenance, the car will serve you for long without any major breakdowns. Honda maintenance cost is also low in Kenya.

Is Honda Accord a reliable car?

Accord is among the top-rated cars when it comes to reliability and it should be among the top cars in the choice list for someone who wants peace of mind after buying a car.

The driving experience is not that great, body roll around corners is among the first thing you will notice. The CVT transmission also does not give that good of an experience. The car however drives smoothly and feels light.

The 2014 to 2019 models of the Honda Accord are given a 5-star rating when it comes to safety by ANCAP safety. The Honda Sensing suite (Collision Mitigation Braking System, Road Departure Mitigation System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist System) assists the driver hence reducing the possibility of an accident. Also, the Dual frontal airbags, side chest airbags, side head airbags (curtains), Antilock brakes (ABS), electronic brake distribution (EBD) and electronic stability control (ESC) come as standard features.

When looking at Value for money, we think the price of the Accord is average compared to what it offers and the price range of its rivals in the market.

The 2WD consumes less fuel than the 4WD, on the other hand, the 2WD is not suitable for rough terrains. If you are hence going to use the car in town areas, the 2WD is okay, for rural areas, go for the 4WD drive or a more suitable car for these roads.

Bottomline

The price of the Honda Accord in Kenya is not as high as its competitors, if you buy a locally used one, you will even pay less. The maintenance of the car is also low and spare parts are available in Kenya. Additionally, Honda Accord does not have a bad fuel economy, this will help you save on running costs.
