Mazda CX5 review in Kenya

After interacting with the CX5, here is what we have to say.

Overall rating(4.6)

The CX5 is a great choice when it comes to comfort. The cabin is spacious in both the headroom and legroom not forgetting the excellent boot space. The seats are also comfortable with leather options available on higher trims. There are also a lot of exterior tech features such as the Mazda Bose sound system which is one of the best in the car market. However, there are not many color options for the interior, black is the most common one.

Mazda CX5 is generally a reliable car. We, however, gave a 4 star since diesel engines of the CX5 have been reported to be troublesome in Kenya and worldwide, the petrol engine however does not have major problems. If you want to avoid problems with the CX5, we would recommend you to go for the petrol one. You can still go for the diesel one that gives more power and is more fuel economical, but you should be ready for anything.

The driving experience of the Mazda CX5 is just great. For a car of its size, it handles plenty well. It comes with automatic gear which gives a better interaction with the vehicle when driving unlike the CVT in some of its competitors like the Subaru Forester. The engine power of the CX5 is as impressive as you would expect.

The safety rating for Mazda CX5 on ANCAP international is 5 stars for the 2017 model onwards. For adult protection, it scores 95% while for child protection, it is 80%. The car has dual frontal airbags, side chest-protecting airbags and side head-protecting (curtain) airbags as a standard. Autonomous emergency braking (AEB) and a driver-set speed limiter are also standard in its models.

When it comes to value for money, we think that getting a Mazda CX5, especially a petrol one is definitely worth it. Although the price of this car has gone up in Kenya due to the increased demand. You get reliability, a pretty good comfortable interior and great ground clearance that will cruise through any road in the country.

Is Mazda CX-5 expensive to maintain?

The Mazda CX-5 is not an expensive vehicle to maintain. The cost of Parts and Labor are about average when compared to other vehicles in its class. Routine maintenance such as oil changes, tune-ups, and tire rotations should be done at the manufacturer’s recommended intervals to ensure optimal performance and fuel economy.u003cbru003eu003cbru003eOne reason the CX-5 is so affordable to maintain is that it uses high-quality parts that are designed to last. Additionally, the Mazda CX-5 comes with a number of standard features that help to reduce the likelihood of costly repairs down the road. For example, the i-Activsense safety system helps drivers avoid accidents, which can save money on pricey collision repairs.

Conclusion

Above is a look at Mazda CX-5. The Mazda CX-5 is a great car and its price in Kenya is just right. The Mazda CX-5 has many features that are standard for the vehicle’s class, such as All wheel drive, keyless start, and a rearview camera. The only options on the car are the color of the paint and the upholstery material. This is a change from previous years where buyers had to choose between different trim levels with increasing prices.

The base model starts at KES 2.4 million which is an excellent price for a well-equipped car like the Mazda CX-5. The top-level model costs KES 3.3 million which still isn’t bad compared to other vehicles in its class.
